UPDATE September '22: In person weekly meetings at 5051 MISSION St. have ended.
Currently on ZOOM only ~ Stay tuned for news and events!

Become part of a "Sangha", the community that gathers to hear and practice the teachings of the Buddha "Dharma" and support each other on our paths to liberation from greed, hatred and delusion. We learn methods of untangling ourselves from the daily stressors that make life more difficult than it needs to be and are developing the wisdom to know how we can contribute to making a positive change in the world.

Every Wednesday night we get together to practice:

  • "Vipassana" or "Insight" meditation for a half-hour. With guiding instruction suitable for all levels of experience and opportunity for individual attention.
  • Learning about the Buddha's teachings and how we can apply them to our daily lives with a 20-40 minute Dharma talk.
  • Giving time and attention to each other for inquiry and sharing of our experiences, structured in a way that cultivates honest and kind communication skill.

Meditation guidance and dharma talks are offered by Jeff, a trained Buddhist meditation facilitator in the Thai Forest, Against The Stream lineage (or an occasional guest teacher), sharing the Suttas and commentary of the Dharma using everyday language that we can all easily understand.

We also offer class series' from time to time centered around a particular book or collection of teachings. As well as: special events, off-site field trips and meditation retreats.

Be sure to check out the What's Happening page now and Contact Us to receive email notifications, our official "once-in-a-while" newsletter, or if you have any inquiry at all.

Try to be mindful. And let things take their natural course.
Then your mind will become still in any surroundings –
like a clear forest pool.
All kinds of wonderful, rare animals will come to drink at the pool – and you will clearly see the nature of all things.
You will see many strange and wonderful things come and go, but you will be still. This is the happiness of the Buddha.
