Weekly Group Classes Open to Everyone
Become part of a "Sangha", the community that gathers to hear and practice the teachings of the Buddha "Dharma" and support each other on our paths to liberation from greed, hatred and delusion. We learn methods of untangling ourselves from the daily stressors that make life more difficult than it needs to be, freeing our hearts to develop radical, compassionate wisdom, contributing to positive change in the world.
Every Wednesday night we get together to practice:
- "Vipassana" or "Insight" meditation for a half-hour. With guiding instruction suitable for all levels of experience and opportunity for individual attention.
- Learning about the Buddha's teachings and how we can apply them to our daily lives with a 20-40 minute Dharma talk.
- Giving time and attention to each other for inquiry and sharing of our experiences, structured in a way that cultivates honest and kind communication skill.
Meditation guidance and Dharma talks are offered by Jeff, a trained Buddhist meditation teacher in the Against The Stream lineage of Noah Levine through Thai Forest Masters. Sharing unique and informed perspectives on the Teachings and Commentaries using street language we can relate to and apply in our daily lives.
Class Series' are created from time to time centered around a particular book or collection of teachings. As well as: special events, off-site field trips and meditation retreats.

Practicing Generosity:
In Buddhist tradition, the teachings are considered priceless. We express our appreciation through generosity ("Dana"), renunciation and kindness. It's because of the support given before us that we have these teachings today. Our practice holds the unbroken chain intact and cultivates good karma.

Try to be mindful. And let things take their natural course.
Then your mind will become still in any surroundings – like a clear forest pool. All kinds of wonderful, rare animals will come to drink at the pool – and you will clearly see the nature of all things. You will see many strange and wonderful things come and go, but you will be still. This is the happiness of the Buddha. – Ajahn Chah . |
